Dr. Shobana Swaminathan is a Veena artist and a graded performer of All India Radio. She has completed her M.A. and M.Phil. in Indian Music from University of Madras and Ph.D. from Mother Teresa Women’s University. She has passed the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by University Grants Commission (UGC). She has a teaching experience in various institutions like University of Madras (Institute of Correspondence Education), Mother Teresa Women’s University (School of Distance Education), Tamil Nadu Music and Fine Arts University and Vel’s University. She served as Principal at Sri Annai Kamakshi College of Fine Arts affiliated to Tamil Nadu Music and Fine Arts University for a period of 4 years. She was a recipient of Junior research fellowship from Ministry of Culture, Government of India. She is a guest faculty for Veena at Temple of Fine Arts, Singapore. She has given concerts at various sabhas and institutions in India and abroad. She has presented research papers at several National and International seminars and published papers in several music journals.
