Master of Arts in Hindustani Music

Master of Arts in Hindustani Music will provide a comprehensive and incremental approach to the theoretical language of music, supported by finer nuance to practical performance. Theoretical musical knowledge enhances and supports the student’s practical studies. At the end of this program students will be well equipped in all aspects that are important in the study of Hindustani music to take on higher educational and creative opportunities.

Requirements :

Duration: Two years (spread over 4 semesters)
Required Units: (30 credit units)
Required Courses: Total of 10 courses (7 core- mandatory and 3 elective)

General Admission Requirements:

Every applicant will be assessed by the Faculty for admission.

EVALUATION

The evaluation has the following components- Final exams, Mid-term exams, Assignments, a Thesis, and an Oral Defense. Students will be awarded a degree in Master of Arts in Hindustani Music, on their successful completion of all the required courses, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher based on the evaluation weightages across the various methods/metrics.

Estimated Program Costs: $9,900.00 including Tuition ($9,000.00), Application Fee, Books, Registration Fees, etc.
